2013 Pro Life Ministry Accomplishments

• 180 babies saved from abortion via sidewalk counseling in Long Beach.

• 40 babies saved via the ultra sound we donated to Horizon Pregnancy Center, Huntington Beach.

•  Donated our 2nd ultra sound machine to Dr. Elsa Garcia in Long Beach. Also purchased the dopler unit so women can hear the baby’s heart beat.

• Provided funding to Dr. Elsa to assist in the reversing of the abortion bill.

• Hosted the spring 40 Days for Life Campaign.

• Provided music, raised money and awareness at McTaliano’s Dinner Dance.

• Successful Lenten and Advent diaper drives held by St. Cornelius and Our Lady of Refuge school children.

• Revamped the upper closet in the choir loft which is now our Donations Closet.

• Continued selling The Living Stations of the Cross CD – ordered our third set of 1,000.

• Presented The Living Stations of the Cross at St. Cornelius for our 5th time

• Continued our commitment to the monthly Rosary and Mass for Life.

• Presented The Power of 7 Pro Life Tutorial to St. Joseph High School, American Martyrs Church, and Central Baptist Church.

• Held our first yard sale and participated in two craft sales.

• Began the process of training team members to be Project Rachel post abortion counselors.

• Made a commitment to be the San Pedro area leaders of Project Rachel.

• Participated in the 4 Life Christian Service event at StubHub Center.

• Held our annual fall 40 Days for Life Kick Off Rally.

• Hosted the fall 40 Days for Life prayer campaign.

• Rode in the Long Beach Bike Tour again this year. Our Biking for Babies team is up to 17 riders. Raised over $6,000.00

• Raised over $14,000.00 as a result of four Pennies from Heaven Fundraisers.

• Donated $5,800.00 to Precious Life Shelter, Los Alamitos.

• Created Diaper Drive posters for organizations who hold drives for us.

• Signed up as a charity on Cars 4 Causes – donated your car, boat, etc, at Cars4Causes.com.

• Signed up as a charity on eScrip – you can, too, at eScrip.com.

• Signed up as a charity on Amazon Smile – you can, too, at Smile.Amazon.com.

• Spoke with St. Maria Goretti Confirmation students about abortion and thanked them for their donation of $800.00 for diapers.

• Invited St. Cornelius Confirmation kids to be a part of our Mass for Life – singing with us.

• Handed out pro life book marks the first Sunday in November, made by the children of St. Cornelius School and Religious Ed.

• Provided music for ACCW and People for Others – donations made to AGM.

• Purchased sponsorship ads in St. Cornelius Fiesta Book and Holy Innocents 90th celebration.

• Emceed East Los Angeles Pregnancy Center’s Gala fundraiser.

• Emceed Precious Life Shelter’s Vegas Night Fundraiser.

• Team members attended Pro Life International Conference in L.A.

• Began a LIFE Blog on our website.

• Held two candlelight vigils outside the abortion mill in Long Beach.

• Created a bigger presence on the web: this new and expanded website, facebook, YouTube channel, and Twitter accounts (links on Home page).

• Continued our monthly Rosary and Mass for Life, the first Sunday of the month, with the Rosary at 4:30 and Mass at 5:00.

• Collected many, many donations left to us in the Holy Family Room by our St. Cornelius’ parishioners.

• Bought diapers, diapers, and more diapers, and car seats, cribs, and whatever else was needed for the babies who’s mom’s chose LIFE!
