Madeline’s Lenten ProLife Journey – Entry #3: International Women’s Day …from a Pro-Life Perspective

From the journal of Madeline, a member of AudioGirl Ministries

Our Lenten journey continues!

This past Sunday we celebrated International Women’s Day, and the more I scrolled through my social media accounts the more I was motivated to write about the 2020 Women’s Rights Movement.

I’m always surprised when people don’t realize that being Pro-Life also means being Pro-Woman.

Encouraging women with hope and new possibilities along with giving them the right resources to provide support not only their baby’s future but support for themselves, is goodness all around. It seems obvious that we’re doing the right thing, but it’s disturbing that the world we live in says and does otherwise.

I did some research and found this which I pulled directly from the mission statement of the Los Angeles Women’s March website, “We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights.” Then what about the rights of even the very smallest human, the weakest of all, those yet to be born? Consistency and truth seem to be missing and the statement is misleading.

It seems to be hypocritical for a movement that promotes abortion/murder to make a claim about human rights. A cause that supports abortions, justifying innocent lives taken every day, and even shouts praises about doing so from within this movement doesn’t seem pro women at all to me. How many baby girls will never get the opportunity to be women? How many women are left scarred emotionally, mentally, and even physically by a movement disguised as being a source of strength and support for them. So really then, which is it? The Women’s Rights Movement of today does or does not believe in human rights?!

It can be confusing because the women’s movement includes some really good things too. Since its beginnings a lot of great things have happened and continue to happen, like women being able to vote, and equal pay and even better positions in the workplace. It’s crazy that evil can so easily hide inside something so good. But I guess that the responsibility lies with each of us. Knowledge is power. We must research, apply common sense, and most of all pay attention!

Unfortunately today’s “empowerment” movement has been twisted and formed into something that does not always empower women at all, at least not on the matter of abortion. The message today is toxic instead, to the point of it being deadly. But as members of the Pro-Life movement WE must work tirelessly to get back to the good. Let’s help be the change that gets women back on track and resets the women’s empowerment movement back to what it was created to be, a force to help women, ALL women even the small ones, take our places in the world and make it a better place! WE are the Pro-Life Generation, and it’s up to US to create a new reality right now..

I pray for the day that instead of marching against each other, we learn to march together, for the honest betterment of women, in support of ALL human life.

God bless,

Madeline
